BURLINGTON, CT (TCD) — A 76-year-old woman recently pleaded guilty to charges related to the death of her 84-year-old husband, whose body she hid in the basement of their home.
The Hartford, Connecticut Judicial District Attorney's Office released the following: On March 11, Linda Kosuda-Bigazzi pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of Pierluigi Bigazzi and first-degree burglary. Kosdaviazzi is scheduled to be sentenced on June 28.
In February 2018, Bigazzi's employer requested a welfare check after not hearing from the victim in months. Connecticut State Police responded to the home and found him dead. Investigators suspect Bigazzi died around July 2017, several months before she was discovered.
Even after his death, the victim's employer reportedly continued to deposit his wages into a joint account between him and Kosuda-Bigazzi.
According to WTNH-TV, the victim served as a professor at the Connecticut College of Public Health. A total of $46,000 was reportedly deposited into the couple's joint account after the victim's death.
“This case has been pending for six years, so we are grateful that we were able to find a resolution today,” said State Attorney Sharmese Walcott.
