With the onset of the monsoon season, many are eagerly waiting to taste the Jamun fruit. Considered by many as the ultimate pleasure of the monsoon season, Jamun is a treasure trove of nutrients and is also a favorite among children. There are a few things to keep in mind while consuming this fruit. One of them is not to drink water after eating it. Speaking to the portal, Dr. Makarand Kumar (BAMS, Begusarai Government Ayurvedic College, 24 years of experience) elaborated on this. According to the doctor, drinking water or milk immediately after eating Jamun fruit can cause many stomach problems. Reportedly, it can cause problems like diarrhea and indigestion. It is recommended to drink water 30-40 minutes after consuming Jamun.
Dr. Makaland also advised people not to consume excessive amounts of jamun fruit. This is because it may cause gastrointestinal problems such as gas or bloating. These problems may also occur in people with sensitive digestive systems. According to medical experts, this fruit is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, which are beneficial for the skin. It can have negative effects not only on the face, but also on the skin, acne, wrinkles, etc. According to the report, there is no direct evidence that jamun causes acne. Each person's reaction to food varies. Excessive consumption of sweet fruits like jamun can potentially cause acne in people prone to breakouts.
Dr. Makarand cautioned patients with low blood sugar levels about consuming this fruit. According to doctors, this fruit lowers blood sugar levels. Therefore, medical experts have warned people who are already suffering from low blood sugar to avoid eating this fruit. This is because black plums, called jamun, can have negative effects on the body.
Keeping these specific points in mind, there is no harm in eating jamun. Jamun, with its high vitamin C content, can significantly boost your immune system.
