Alcudia
Alcudia, on the island's north coast, is famous for the wide sandy, Blue Flag-certified beaches of Alcudia Bay, whose shallow, crystal-clear waters are ideal for young children. Beaches with sunbeds, umbrellas and lifeguards ensure a worry-free day at sea. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach promenade, which is lined with ice cream shops and cafes. No need to pack a picnic.
Beyond the beach is the historic Old Town, surrounded by medieval walls and narrow, cobbled streets lined with local markets and charming shops. Alcudia's history is on display at the Roman ruins of Pollentia, where children can learn about the ancient civilization in an open-air museum experience. Plus, nearby Hidropark is a popular water park filled with slides, wave pools and mini golf to add a little more excitement to a leisurely day.
Accommodation: Iberostar Selection Playa de Muro Village
Iberostar's collection of all-inclusive beach resorts are always great for families. There are children's clubs and products to entertain the little ones and give moms and dads some one-on-one time. In fact, Iberostar is a Spanish hotel company so there are a few scattered around the island, and this one along Muro Beach is a bit more isolated, bordering a bay and wetland reserve. The property offers a family suite with a sofa bed that provides a living room during the day and a sleeping area at night.

Polenka Port
Located just a few miles north of Alcudia, Port de Pollenca is located on a smaller bay, making it easy to travel between the two cities and enjoy all they have to offer. The town's main beach features a long stretch of golden sand along calm, shallow waters with lifeguards and shaded loungers. The Pine Walk trail, so named for its shade from pine trees, provides a scenic route with views of the bay and surrounding mountains.
If you don’t want to dip your toes in the sand, take a boat trip to explore hidden coves and nearby islands, or try water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding. The town is also the gateway to the island’s northernmost point, Cap de Formentor, as well as the northern Tramuntana Mountains, where families can hike and bike along beautiful trails. The rugged terrain makes this rustic area difficult to build on, so there are plenty of walking trails and private beaches, and at the end you’ll find the famous lighthouse (accessible by car).
Accommodation: Hotel Miramar
This family-owned historic building, located right on the bay, has been a mainstay of Port de Pollenca for over 100 years. Reminiscent of Miami’s South Beach buildings, Hotel Miramar features a spa, pool, and restaurant overlooking the bay. As a boutique hotel, there is no children’s club, but it does offer a babysitting service so parents can relax and have dinner in the town.
Families may prefer to book one of the hotel's 40 apartments. Located in different buildings with a swimming pool, these apartments offer 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, separate living and dining areas, a kitchen and a private terrace. If you have young children, choose the Maricel 1 building, which has an elevator on the 3rd floor. Maricel 2 is on the second floor, but there is no elevator, which can be inconvenient when carrying a lot of luggage and strollers.
