Trump spent $20,000 to stage a fake UAW speech at a non-union plant in Michigan with non-union workers.
Items from the FEC report include:

The whole setup was fake.
After the Trump campaign released his speech, it was revealed that Trump would not be going to the UAW picket line. The former president was not speaking to auto workers, nor was he speaking to their unions. It was all a scam.
President Biden spoiled Trump's stunt by showing up before Trump and walking a picket line with UAW workers.
Trump's speech ended up being a disaster that didn't address any of the autoworkers' concerns, and the story ended with the UAW endorsing President Biden's re-election.
Donald Trump couldn't risk meeting real union members, so he staged a fake event for television cameras and had non-union members capture union members for Trump signs.
None of it was real and none of it worked. The former president didn't fool anyone. His stage performances were seen as skewering and did not generate the media coverage he had hoped for.
Don't assume anything is real with Donald Trump. Even the speech sent to union members was a fraud.
