Haley used the decision to take jabs at both Biden and her rival Trump, describing the decision as a “glaring” double standard: “Both Joe Biden and Donald Trump were reckless with classified documents.”
She wrote on social media platform. “If Biden’s defense is old age and forgetfulness, Trump could easily make the same argument. “Trump needs to hire Biden’s lawyer quickly,” he said.
The special counsel's report released by the Justice Department did not reveal the legal basis for Biden's actions, but also provided harsh descriptions of his actions and mental capacity. The report said Biden would be perceived in any court proceedings as “a sympathetic, well-meaning older man with a poor memory.”
The report also notes that while Trump reportedly refused to return classified documents for months and instructed others to “destroy evidence and then lie about it,” Biden said Biden would “submit classified documents to the National Archives.” “The Ministry of Justice agreed to a search and seizure of several locations, including his home, and cooperated with the investigation by conducting voluntary interviews.”
Biden said of this decision, “I am pleased to see the special counsel clarify the stark differences between this case and the Trump case.”
“In my case, the special prosecutor decided not to file any charges. “This matter is now closed.”
