Crispy roast potatoes are a must-have for your Easter Sunday dinner table.
And one piece of kitchen equipment that is essential for achieving the best crunch is an air fryer.
So to help the nation perfect their potatoes this Easter, Philips Air Fryer Chef Martin Senders has revealed three steps every home cook should follow.
Perfect Air Fryer Potato Roast Tips
dry the potatoes
After cutting or soaking potatoes, quickly pat them with a dry kitchen towel or paper towel to dry them as much as possible.
This helps remove moisture and makes way for crispier rosti with a heavenly fluffy interior, as overly wet potatoes don't crisp up well.
Be sure to coat it with oil.
One of the many advantages of an air fryer is that it uses less oil than traditional cooking methods, but evenly coating the potatoes with the oil of your choice (e.g. olive oil) is important to achieve that perfect crispiness.
Spray or drizzle – it’s up to you.
Beware of overcrowding
If you keep wondering why your potatoes aren't getting crispy, you're likely overfilling your air fryer.
There's a reason people say “less is more.” Overfilling your air fryer can prevent proper air circulation, which can cause your potatoes to cook unevenly.
To ensure perfect crispiness, make sure each potato has enough space. If you're cooking a large batch, cooking the chips in batches is an easy way to avoid overcrowding.
