“As time goes by, you start to have thoughts and realize things, right?” Tarek explained. “And this is what I realized. I couldn't imagine growing up in a home where my parents were divorced and they hated each other. Because I love my mom and I love her dad. Although they are divorced, they still get together for family dinners. And the truth is, let bygones be bygones.”
After years of tension between Tarek, Christina and their respective spouses, the group came together after Brayden underwent an emergency appendectomy in May 2022. The situation was dire for the parents, but ultimately helped everyone improve.
“It’s stressful 24 hours a day, but it’s a reminder of how important teamwork and co-parenting are,” Christina wrote on Instagram at the time. “We're all under pressure, but when it really matters, Brayden is there to make sure we do our part. Sometimes scary situations can be a good wake-up call. In the end, everything else is just ‘noise’ and what matters is the kids.”
