Known for her starring roles in WE TV's “Braxton Family Values” and its spinoff series “Tamar & Vince,” Braxton is a reality TV icon.
Considering her extensive experience, many people wondered why she didn't join the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The reason, she says, according to the 47-year-old, lies in the fundamental differences between the formats of the shows.
Those who are familiar with Braxton's previous show know that this one focuses more on following her and her family's daily life.
The 'Real Housewives' franchise, on the other hand, is structured around more staged events where cast members argue with each other.
Speaking with Carlos King on the “Reality with the King” podcast, Braxton admitted to having a “conversation” before flatly stating:

“The truth is, there’s no way I’m going to put on makeup and a wig and slap people in the face and argue with a bunch of bitches about nothing.“
A mother of one explained candidly: “I can't do it. How will it help my life? Like, what's the argument? I can't do it.”
The actress also pointed out concerns about the broader implications of reality TV, noting that the confrontational nature of 'Real Housewives' doesn't align with her values or the type of content she wants to be associated with. In her own words:
“You have to do it sometime. have responsibility What you put on your TV screen. I don't want to be a part of that kind of television. “I want to make epic television that’s feel-good, funny, good, and relatable.”

The former “The Real” host's decision not to join the hit franchise is in line with her desire to maintain a positive image on TV, but it's worth noting that her controversial relationship with a certain housewife may also have played a role .
A caller from the show asked Braxton who the “RHOA” star and her husband claimed had “threatened” her. Host Andy Cohen speculated that she might be Eva Marcille, to which Braxton immediately responded, “She's not.”

Braxton, who recently announced that she would not be joining the 'Real Housewives' franchise, almost returned with her family in 2021.
At the time, The Last reported that the broadcaster was being investigated for the possibility of appearing on a new program. But as coy as Braxton was, she overlooked some key details.
When a cameraman asked Braxton, “You recently said, 'What would happen if I told you Braxton Family Values was coming back?'” Braxton humorously responded.
Reluctant to go without an answer, he added, “And you said, 'But not on the stupid network.'”
