Best 3-Point Shooter – Who is Stephen Curry or Sabrina Ionescu?

Let’s break down what this competition looks like.
The Golden State Warriors star is a two-time winner of the NBA 3-point contest and holds the NBA record with 3,642 3-pointers, according to CNN. The New York Liberty star has also compiled an impressive record. In 2023, she set the WNBA record for most 3-pointers made in a single season with 128, and set the WNBA and NBA all-time record with 37-of-40 in 3-point contests last season.
And this isn't the first time these two have been together. In the past, they played pickup matches, and Ionescu won the HORSE match against Curry last year.
“We’ve competed a few times, but we’ve definitely never been on this stage,” she said. “But we’ve always been competitive and I think we can keep up with each other from afar.”
Rules for Saturday night's 3-point battle between Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu.
Both players start with five ball racks positioned in key shooting positions along the three-point line. Four of the five racks contain one Moneyball worth two points. The fifth rack is all moneyballs and is placed in a location chosen by the shooter. There are also two Starry Range balls in deep shot position. This ball is worth 3 points.
Each player has 70 seconds to attempt a shot. The contest follows a rules format similar to a standard three-point contest.
The official rules state that Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA 3-point line (20 feet 6 inches) and Curry will shoot from the NBA 3-point line (23 feet 9 inches), but Ionescu made the decision because she practices at the NBA practice range. do. We will also be using the NBA line.
“I personally shoot at the men’s range, and I practice there first,” Ionescu said, according to Reuters.
“I knew I had the opportunity to choose which line I wanted to shoot from, so it was natural that I wanted to shoot from the NBA line and prove that we were capable and willing. It took me a lot of time to convince myself and know that I wanted to level the playing field.”
When Ionescu shoots from the NBA 3-point line, the only difference between the two is that Ionescu uses a regular WNBA ball and Curry uses a standard NBA ball.
So you're probably wondering what the betting odds are for this history-making matchup.
Ionescu is a +185 favorite at BetMGM. She was given a lopsided action that gave her 74.3% of the bets and 89.7% of the money to beat Curry.
