Stephen Colbert says Trump should be in prison after he was found to have raped E. Jean Carroll during a monologue on The Late Show.
Colbert said:
Of course, Trump likes all the coverage to be about the fight in court. Because it distracts people from what this event is really about. As Mitt Romney said, “I think a lot of people in this country are out of touch with reality and will accept whatever Donald Trump tells them. A jury has found that Donald Trump raped a woman. And that doesn’t seem to move the needle.”
That's a good thing, but to be fair, the jury said it was sexual assault. The judge later clarified that the assault would generally be considered rape. This is the kind of thing that should end with Trump in jail or living alone in a motel next to the racetrack. But every time he got worse, his poll numbers got better. This explains his new 2024 slogan: “Welcome to Hell.”
Now Trump doesn't believe he should be held accountable for anything. At 2 a.m. he posted something screaming: “The President of the United States must have complete immunity, without which it would be impossible for him/her to function properly.” No, Trump does not believe in any accountability. He believes the presidency should be like the movie The Purge, which is why he always wears a strange leather pig mask. But it's good. It's good to see him being inclusive. He said, “I believe that the president should have a private team of killers to eliminate anyone who dares oppose him, whether he is Hispanic or Spanish. Kilbaya, my lord, Kilbaya.”
Colbert's video:
Trump is potentially in prison for a number of reasons, but the fact that he was found guilty of what Judge Kaplan said would be considered rape not only disqualifies Trump from being president, he should remain in prison.
The fact that Trump is a rapist may not move his Republican base, but it certainly makes a difference to the men and women who follow Donald Trump. E. Jean Carroll's rape/assault could be proven in civil court, but there are dozens of other allegations against Trump.
Stephen Colbert is right. Trump should be in prison, and there is absolutely no way he could be considered for the next president.
