You can't make this up.
Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), a member of the squad, accused drugstore giant Walgreens of racism over its decision to close stores in high-crime areas, including her own district, Massachusetts' 7th Congressional District.
In a speech to the House of Commons, Pressley criticized the pharmacy giant for deciding to close its store on Warren Street in Roxbury. She noted that the area is “85% black and Latino.”
She called the move part of a worrying pattern of withdrawal from low-income communities. A radical lawmaker, she condemned the impact such closures would have on residents who rely on pharmacies for essential items, including medicine and health products.
“When Walgreens leaves a neighborhood, it disrupts entire communities, taking with them baby formula, diapers, asthma inhalers, life-saving medications, and even jobs. These closures are neither arbitrary nor innocent. “This is a life-threatening act of racial and economic discrimination,” she argued.
Rep. Pressley, along with Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Minn.) and Ed Markey (D-Minn.) demanded a detailed explanation from the Walgreens CEO.
“Why was there no community input, no proper notification to customers, and no transition resources to prevent gaps in health care? It's a shame. Having a website with talking points about health equity and underserved communities is not enough. Walgreens is a multibillion-dollar corporation that needs to put its money where its mouth is and stop divesting from black and brown communities.”

In 2020, the FBI ranked Massachusetts as the most violent state in New England.
Goal.org wrote: “Based on population, Massachusetts earned New England violence honors with a rate of 308.8 per 100,000. This is nearly three times the violent crime rate in Maine (108) and more than twice that in New Hampshire (146.4). It is notable that the three least violent states in New England are constitutional states that actually encourage responsible citizens to exercise their Second Amendment civil rights.
Jim Wallace, GOAL's executive director, added: “This is not surprising and certainly maintains that the Commonwealth remains one of the most violent states in the northeastern United States.” “In 2018, we published the Massachusetts Gun Control Successes – A False and Dangerous Narrative report, which proved beyond a doubt that the Commonwealth’s laws and policies were abject failures. No one listened, and no major media outlet picked up the story. Therefore, the country’s leadership has no one to blame but themselves!”
America's cities will eventually become retail deserts. This is all because of Democratic policies and weak leaders who do not prosecute crimes.
The CVS pharmacy chain announced it will close 900 stores by the end of 2024, citing shoplifting as a major problem.
The news comes at the same time Target announced the closure of nine stores for similar reasons.
One CVS drugstore in Washington, D.C., is removing a lot of inventory from its shelves and using the space to display photos of products that customers could have purchased in person.
Conservative critic Joey Mannarino Posted in The photo he claimed was from the CVS store on H Street in Washington, DC.
“This is news from CVS on H Street in Washington, DC. Due to theft out of their control, they have now put away almost all of their items and only have photos of what they have in stock. You press a button and a salesperson brings you what you need,” he posted.
Stores in San Francisco are now chaining freezers and bathrooms to prevent shoplifting, with one store experiencing up to 20 robberies a day.

So now Democrats are going to the business owners instead of prosecuting the criminals.
