A British judge has ruled that London police cannot ban Niyak Ghorbani from attending a pro-Palestinian protest. Iranian dissident Ghorbani became famous for attending protests holding a sign that read 'Hamas is a terrorist.' He was arrested three times by Met police at that protest. During his last arrest, he did not have a sign, but was arrested for refusing to stand where police told him to. After his arrest, the police gave him a piece of paper stating that one of his bail conditions was “not to attend any protests related to Israel or Palestine in the city of Westminster.” The judge said the conditions were “neither necessary nor proportionate”.
