NBC News reported, “The Senate unveiled a bipartisan agreement on Sunday to impose stricter immigration and asylum laws, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is eyeing a vote on the bill this week.”
“The $118 billion package includes a series of provisions to reduce record-breaking southern border crossings and strengthen an asylum system that is overwhelmed by migrants fleeing their homes seeking refuge. It also includes critical support for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan, which Republicans have said they will support only if paired with new U.S. immigration restrictions.”
