Beavis and Butt-Head made an unexpected red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Fall Guy.”
On Tuesday night, Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day appeared on the carpet together dressed as live-action versions of Beavis and Butt-Head, respectively, from the infamous “Saturday Night Live” sketch.
After first posing for photos in a mint monochromatic suit, Gosling disappeared while his “Fall Guy” co-star Emily Blunt and the rest of the cast and crew were interviewed. When he returned to the carpet, Gosling, wearing a prosthetic nose, blonde wig and Beavis' signature Death Rock T-shirt, had an unusual plus-one by his side: Butt-Head (Day).
The duo spoofed the animated character on the April 13 episode of “SNL,” where Heidi Gardner completely broke character when she saw Day as Butt-Head and later turned around to see Gosling as Beavis. Kenan Thompson, who also took part in the infamous “Beavis and Butt-Head” skit, admitted: Diversity “I broke down so badly at the dress rehearsal,” he said.
“I’ve never had a break where I was so tearful and speechless,” Thompson said. “It was so much fun to me, and what I'm about to say next was fun to me too. And I froze. I was literally shaking and starting to panic. Because I can't speak without crying. I don't want to waste any lines! It can throw everything away. “It was like three seconds of chaos.”
“The Fall Guy” opens in theaters Friday.
