When asked recently who his hero is: men's health magazine In the cover story, Gosling didn't hesitate to praise his partner Mendes, saying: “Well, Eva of course.”
The Canadian actor also highlighted the influence of his uncle Bill, recalling his support during difficult times. “And Uncle Bill. When I was in school, he said, ‘Everything you accomplish, you’re going to put in a scrapbook.’”
He added, “I didn't want the scrapbook to be empty. Uncle Bill believed in me when I didn't really believe in myself.”
Opening up about their family unit, Gosling said he and Mendes do not hire a babysitter or nanny for their daughters Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee, who soon turn 8.

The actor shared his favorite meals for his family.
“I make Moroccan chicken bastilla, which I don’t get upset about,” the “Barbie” star said of her favorite meal to cook for her family.
“’When it comes to Eva and the girls, they come first,” he added.
