Following Kate's recent paparazzi appearance, the Ministry of Defense faced backlash and quickly removed claims that the Princess of Wales had attended the Trooping The Color event from its website.
Ticket sales for the June 8 “practice” parade, in which Kate took part as an honorary colonel of the Irish Guards, were halted amid speculation that the Ministry of Defense had acted hastily without Palace approval.
Kensington Palace stressed that they had not been “consulted” about the announcement and that any formal engagement to the princess would “only be confirmed” by them. They added that while Kate's recovery progresses she will not return to public duties until after Easter.
The Ministry of Defense website also mentioned a possible attendance by Charles III on June 15, although this was not confirmed by Buckingham Palace, but there were no changes to the website in this regard.
