rihanna offers her best advice for fellow moms struggling with how to dress their children.
The 36-year-old self-made billionaire spoke to ET about the launch of the FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone shoes, saying after initially struggling to figure out how to dress her sons Rza and Riot, whom she shares with her boyfriend, A$AP RockyShe saw the answer right before her eyes.
“When I dress, I always try to dress like Rocky,” she told ET's Rachel Smith. “Because I always imagine dressing a girl, right? As women, we all think, ‘Oh, I’m going to dress her in these cute clothes,’ but then when we have a boy, we think, ‘What am I going to do?’ That’s right. ?' And I thought, 'I have the biggest hack, and it's their father.'”
The “Umbrella” singer and her rapper boyfriend, 35, first met in late 2019. After being together for three years, the two They welcomed their first son, RZA, in 2022.. To expand their family, the couple quickly followed up with their first genetic collaboration: In August 2023, a baby named Riot was born.. For the latter pregnancy, fans will remember Rihanna debuting her baby bump during her Super Bowl performance.
One of her special prides is being inspired by children and having the opportunity to channel that creative energy into the brand. Rihanna says she believes her partnership with Puma is a big reason why she's been inspired to keep moving toward her ultimate goal of launching a children's clothing line.
“The inspiration for the design comes from designing children’s shoes, starting with Puma, then Avantis, and now Creepers,” she said. “It’s really fun. It’s cute to see the kids wearing the clothes I made and designed. It’s really amazing.”
In December she told ET At a separate Creeper Phatty launch event, she revealed that the sky is the limit and that her dream is to dedicate an entire line just to children, even if it means starting with children's-specific shoes and working her way up slowly.
“This collaboration allows me to invite the whole family to my designs and collections,” said Rihanna. “I get to see my babies wearing these shoes.”
“Yes, yes, everything is coming,” she added of a potential clothing line.
In a new interview from London, the Fenty Beauty creator shared an update on her new album, which fans have affectionately dubbed R9, and when asked when the project would come out, she gave a cheeky reply.
“I want to know,” she joked.
her last album, anti, following her departure in January 2016, she has redirected her energies to fashion, beauty and personal endeavors. Whenever her highly anticipated new album comes out, RiRi has a non-zero chance that Rza and Riot will be on the featuring list, but she said it's “up to them.”
Even if they turn her down, she said she's not worried because she knows her ever-evolving album will surprise her fans no matter what.
“I already have some stuff that I think could be a hit. Me and Rocky are really thinking about who will use what,” Rihanna said. “Because it’s so good.”
