Pennsylvania is a very important swing state. It went to Trump in 2016 and to Biden in 2020. The Democratic Party sees this as a state that Biden must win in 2024, but some recent opinion polls are starting to show signs of exhaustion.
If old 'Scranton Joe' doesn't win there in November, the Democrats think the whole 'blue wall' will fall, and for once they'll be right.
It wouldn't be surprising to see Democrats ramp up their advertising spending there in the coming months.
The Hill reports:
Pennsylvania takes issue with 'Scranton Joe'
President Biden, whom they call “Scranton Joe,” has frequently mentioned Pennsylvania in his speeches and his campaign has spent millions of dollars on political ads there.
In 2020, the president set up his campaign headquarters in Philadelphia before the COVID-19 pandemic and visited the city more than any other battleground state in that cycle.
But now some Democrats say Biden's blue wall could be bursting.
They point out that recent polls show former President Trump leading by a narrow margin with a narrow tie.
But it's not the top-line numbers that worry them, but the erosion within the Democratic base.
A New York Times/Siena College/Philadelphia Inquirer poll earlier this month found that support for Biden among young voters in the state has declined from 62% to 47% since 2020. And approval ratings among black and Hispanic voters fell from 71% to 57%.
Trump has a 3-point lead over Biden in Pennsylvania, according to a recent poll from the Cook Political Report.

The Democratic Party is right to be concerned. Trump won here once before, and he can certainly win again.
