Princes William and Harry got some long-awaited, surprising news from one of their cousins.
Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, finally announced her daughter's name in a black-and-white Instagram post on Sunday, June 30.
In the photo, the 33-year-old is holding his daughter as they sit together on a window ledge. The newborn baby is held in Mrs. Spencer's arms, looking out her window.
The cousin of Prince Harry and Prince William, who are famous for protecting their privacy, announced the news of the birth of his daughter on Mother's Day this year through Instagram. She recently revealed that her daughter's name is Athena, along with a black-and-white snapshot and a caption:
“Athena watching the world go by.” A white heart emoticon was added to the end of the message. Royal fans couldn't help but be delighted by Mrs Spencer's daughter's choice of name.
One person wrote: “What a beautiful name!”, while a second commented: “What a beautiful name and photo.”
A third Royal Family fan wrote: “Athena is so beautiful!! Just like her mom.” Her post announcing her daughter's birth did not reveal her name, but it did reveal that her daughter was born on her Mother's Day.
Lady Spencer's post on Instagram read: “Little baby, being your Mum is the joy of my life. I love you unconditionally. Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate today.”
Family fans were shocked and had no idea she was pregnant, OK reported. One netizen wrote: “I didn't know you were going to be a mom. Congratulations.” Another added: “Oh wow! I didn't know you had a little bump. You're so beautiful!”
Lady Spencer has revealed why she has spoken so little about her private life since then. She said, “It's not that I don't value love. To me, love is the most important thing in the world and I will protect it with all my heart by not making it a topic of discussion.
“I'm really looking forward to a happy family life. A happy marriage and happy children. And I feel very relieved that things are going as they should.”
