President Trump is scheduled to headline a campaign rally in support of Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno at an airport near Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday. Ohio's primary election is March 19. Moreno, a businessman, is in a fierce race for the Republican nomination against Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan. The winner will take on Senator Sherrod Brown, a Democratic incumbent who was first elected in 2007 and is seeking his fourth term.
Trump held a rally for then-candidate JD Vance at the same airport in November 2022.

Dolan received an endorsement this week from Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine and his wife, Fran. Last Friday, Dolan received an endorsement from former Senator Rob Portman. The race is set to be a battle between the GOP's emerging MAGA wing and the established GOP.
Just came in… Governor Mike and First Lady Fran DeWine have endorsed Matt Dolan in the U.S. Senate primary.
He “has a vision for the future. He knows how to listen, fight, and get results for Ohio.”
This comes a few days after former Senator Rob Portman expressed support.

A Survey USA poll released on March 3 showed Moreno narrowly ahead with 29%, Dolan with 27%, and LaRose with 21%. 23% said they were undecided yet, leaving the race wide open.
Moreno has an impressive list of endorsements. In addition to Trump, he includes Arizona Senate candidate Vivek Ramaswamy of Kari Lake, Ohio, Kash Patel of Ohio, Attorney General Dave Yost, and Jim Jordan of Ohio. It was endorsed by Rep. Warren Davidson (OH) and Rep. Max Miller (OH). OH), Rep. Byron Donalds (FL) and Senators Ted Cruz (TX), Marco Rubio (FL), Mike Lee (UT), Rand Paul (KY), Marsha Blackburn (TN), Bill Hagerty (TN) and John Barrasso ( WY), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Roger Marshall (KS), Tommy Tuberville (AL), Eric Schmitt (MO), Cindy Hyde-Smith (MS), and Governor Kristi Noem (SD).
Moreno's statement about the rally was reported by the Dayton Daily News.
“President Trump is America’s transformational leader, and we are thrilled to stand together with him ahead of Tuesday’s important election. President Trump knows how important this election is. This is a contest between the America First Republican Party and the broken RINO establishment,” Moreno said in a statement released by his campaign. “I have the support of America First conservative warriors like President Trump, Senator JD Vance, and Representative Jim Jordan, while my opponent Matt Dolan has the support of America-Last establishment leaders in the Republican Party like Mike DeWine. And Rob Portman. “The contrast in this primary could not be clearer, and I am confident that the people of Ohio are ready to send President Trump to the United States Senate as a true ally.”
