with 96th Academy Awards Just a few hours away, actors, directors and Hollywood's biggest stars descended on the Dolby Theater on Saturday for a formal dress rehearsal ahead of the big day.
Held annually as a way to get presenters and crew acquainted with the flow of events before cinema's biggest night begins, the run-through began with only a few minor hiccups and a few major pauses for the camera block, and featured stars including: I adjusted the lighting. Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, steven spielberg, America Ferrera And more. ET's Hope Sloop was inside the theater and watched as the show's components piled on top of each other to reveal an exciting and entertaining plan for the night.
This morning – before ET entered the auditorium – Best Supporting Actor nominees ryan gosling We went on stage to practice before Sunday’s performance. The actor will be one of five musical performers to sing an Oscar-nominated song. Bobby, “I’m just Ken.” For the casual walkthrough, Gosling wore a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a Grave Diggers t-shirt, still exuding his character's hard rock and oh-so-cool kang energy.
ET first appeared as Nyong'o. She won an Academy Award for her role. 12 years a slave — Appeared on stage with the other presenters and was represented as a standby because the other presenters involved were unable to attend the rehearsal. She stood patiently in sweats and a padded vest, listening intently to the instructions and introductions of the candidates in each category. To keep things a surprise, ET has been asked not to reveal which category each presentation will read on Sunday.
After exiting and changing the stage and lighting colors to the beat, Zendaya walked up to the virtual microphone to announce the virtual winner and was greeted with loud applause. Spielberg, who has been nominated for best director eight times after Zendaya, showed up for the screening early Saturday morning in a casual vest, wearing jeans and a scarf while making the announcement. The two-time winner, who is clearly superstitious about jinxing nominees in the categories he presents, refused to announce a randomly chosen winner for the purposes of the event, even after a production member told him it was okay to read it.
“No, because it’s bad luck,” he said, laughing. “Bad luck.”
Ferrera (herself nominated for Best Supporting Actress) Kate McKinnon You've probably put on your high heels for the big show and rehearsed your speech to the crowd together. While the “Weird Barbie” actress wore a traditional black suit and black heels, Ferrera added a serious pop of color in jeans and a black leather jacket with pink heels. Strangely enough, the two Bobby The stars panicked and cursed as they both went in to read the same line.
“Oh wait, shit,” they said together as they both went to introduce the candidates. The audience, a skeleton crew of producers, stunt doubles and technical staff, worked together and burst into laughter as the candidates' names were read out in voiceover. The hilarious chaos between the two comedy actresses continued as they began announcing fake winners, with the presenter saying “this is just for this rehearsal” to ensure false reports about the winners of each category were not shared.
“And the Oscars are –” McKinnon said, as Ferrera quickly cut in, “Just for this rehearsal.” He laughed along once again and made the audience laugh with them.
After the observable rehearsal, Catherine O'Hara and michael keaton I had to suppress my laughter as we presented them together and went through a little process related to their categories. The pair turned around twice as they waited for the practice Oscar to be handed out.
In a hilarious moment before ET went out, Keaton probably pulled away from O'Hara, prompting her to sing “Michael” twice. The sound is Schitt's Creek Even without a microphone, the actor's voice rang out in the audience. The sound was eerily familiar to any fan. home alone Has anyone heard O'Hara's classic (and iconic) “Kevin!” A line from the movie.
