- that much Eufy Omni S1 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner and Mop After a successful Kickstarter campaign, it's officially released for $1499.
- This robot vacuum comes with all the features, including excellent object avoidance and a mop roller that cleans itself while mopping the floor, so you only use clean water while mopping. This is the best mopping feature I've tested.
- The S1 Pro can be a bit noisy when emptying itself, and the dock is taller than most.
Devices that combine robot vacuum cleaners and mops seem to be getting better every day. Having previously used a robot mop that dragged a dirty microfiber cloth across the floor, I used to think the rotating mop pad was innovative. However, with the advent of self-cleaning robot mops with separate tanks for clean and dirty water, you can clean your floors only with clean water.

The Eufy Omni S1 Pro has this type of roller mop, and it's the most advanced robot vacuum and mop I've tested. This device has it all: a powerful 8,000Pa suction power for the rubber brush, an auto-emptying charging station, a mopping roller that continuously cleans the inside of the robot while cleaning, and an automatic cleaning and drying station. There's also a mop on the robot, an LCD on the dock with touch buttons to help you select cleaning modes, and an optional disinfection system that ensures the mop is bacteria-free.

Ultimately, the performance of a robot vacuum and mop combo depends on how well it cleans. If you're confident you can comfortably handle the weight, you'll only spend $1,499 on these devices. But after using it for almost three months, I can say that the Eufy Omni S1 Pro is the most efficient robot vacuum and mop I've tested in both vacuum and mopping modes.
It's also the best mopping robot I've found. You can remove stains from the floor. Eufy X9 Pro We couldn't have better mapping capabilities and it's proven. Divot X2 Omni Competitors tested with similar functionality. It mopped better than the best robot vacuums and mops I've tested. Dreamy X40 UltraVacuum function is a bit lacking.
also: I tested a $1,900 robot vacuum and mop for a month. Here's why it's worth it:
It's a very efficient device. It uses less water per cleaning session than all of my robots and cleans the same area in less time than most robots. The Deebot X2 Omni cleaned the downstairs in about 117 minutes, while the S1 Pro cleaned it in 70 minutes without missing a single spot.
Of all the robot vacuums I've tested until recently, the older Eufy X9 Pro was my favorite. The only thing missing was a self-emptying trash can. The S1 Pro improves on everything the Eufy X9 Pro can do, and even features an auto-emptying trash can that the previous version lacked.
The roller mop is as wide as a robot vacuum and cleans floors thoroughly without leaving streaks or tire marks. Mop only with clean water as the robot continuously cleans the mop rollers as it moves around the house. I was skeptical when I first saw this system on the Switchbot S10 robot vacuum and mop. Something might get stuck, or the rollers themselves might wear out with regular use, but that doesn't happen.
Aside from additional periodic maintenance compared to other robot vacuum and mop combos, the Eufy Omni S1 Pro's mopping function has been working flawlessly for the past three months. Roller mop systems, which use only clean water to mop floors, require a feat of engineering for a small device with many moving parts and a dirty water tank with many removable parts.
These dirty water tanks, or “sinks,” as Eufy calls them, can become clogged if not cleaned regularly. You only need to deep clean once every other week, but it's much more convenient than manually mopping your floors. And since the S1 Pro is so efficient, it's a fair balance considering you don't have to fill the water tank as often as other 2-in-1 robots.

The dock's touchscreen LCD is also a useful feature. This allows you to change from vacuum mode to mop mode on the base station, which for other models must be done in the app. I also appreciate the ability to call the robot back to recharge whenever possible.
But what’s wrong with the Eufy S1 Pro?
First of all, it is very loud. The robot is quieter than the previous X9 Pro and Deebot X2 Omni on hard floors, but it can get louder when you increase the suction. Additionally, the charging station is noisy.
also: I test robot vacuum cleaners for a living. The Narwal Freo X Plus is the best one you can get for $400.
When the robot first docked to clean the contents of the bin, it sounded as if it was about to take off into orbit. My child went around the room to ask if the S1 Pro was okay. The machine then responded by starting the very noisy process of washing the mop pad. It consisted of a series of backwash sounds that would make any other self-cleaning robot mop in my house clutch its pearls.
I can live a noisy life. I have three young children. But it's inconvenient to know that you can't run at night because you'll wake up thinking a plane is landing on your ramp. You can set ‘do not disturb’ times so that the robot does not perform self-cleaning tasks during certain times of the day.
The height of the charging station is also very high. For comparison, the Eufy X9 Pro is about 17.5 inches tall, the Deebot X2 Omni station is 20.5 inches tall, and the S1 Pro is 26.75 inches tall. It looks sleek and modern, but it also stands out.

The only other thing I'm not a huge fan of is what Anker calls Eco-Clean Ozone, and I was happy to see that this is an optional setting. This machine is used to generate ozonated water from tap water to deeply clean surfaces and kill bacteria.
Ozone is a very effective disinfectant. Quickly neutralizes bacteria, viruses and fungi in seconds. However, ozone in its gaseous form is also known to irritate the lungs, so we do not recommend that people purchase ozone air purifiers or use devices that use ozone gas at home. I was recently diagnosed with a genetic disorder that puts me at risk for a fatal lung disease. So, no matter how well I clean it, there is no chance of me having a device that could harm me.
also: This is the only vacuum for pet hair and it's a whopping $400 off.
I contacted Anker to inquire about the safety of ozonated water production by the S1 Pro, and the company shared a 600-page report from the TUV Rheinland laboratory. The tests were conducted based on IEC and UL standards and the S1 Pro passed the “Radiation, Toxic and Similar Hazards” provisions, including ozone generation. The highest ozone amount measured during the test was 0.67ppm, which sufficiently satisfies the IEC standard safety zone of 5ppm and is harmless to the human body.
Of course, I still decided to test the Eufy S1 Pro, Ozone, etc., but I turned off the Eco-Clean Ozone feature in the Mach app after the first cleaning. As an overly cautious person, I appreciate being able to turn it on or off.
Buying advice from ZDNET
Based on performance, the Eufy Omni S1 Pro appears to be worth every penny of $1,500. This robot vacuum and mop does it all and does it well. It mops almost like I do and actually cleans the floor with clean water with each pass rather than dragging a dirty pad all over it.
I was filled with excitement as I watched the S1 Pro move gracefully around the house, picking up every strand of pet hair and, most of the time, not getting tangled in socks, things kids left behind, or cables. This robot is one of two robots I've tested that has incredibly good obstacle avoidance capabilities and tops out at just $1,900. Dreamy X40 Ultra.

If you want an efficient and effective high-end robot vacuum cleaner that can clean automatically, this is the best. But let's say you want a vacuum cleaner that can work perfectly during quiet times and doesn't emit any potential irritants (you can always turn off the Eco-Clean ozone). If that's the case, you may want to check out one of ZDNET's other tested vacuum and mop combos.
