Rating Relief allows NSE IX members to learn about NSE IX's stock indices through activities with approved broker-dealers and financial institutions in the United States.
According to a statement, NSE International Exchange (NSE IX) has received ratings relief from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), allowing US customers to participate in stock index options contract trading on the stock exchange. Rating Relief allows NSE IX members to learn about NSE IX's stock indices through activities with approved broker-dealers and financial institutions in the United States.
The class relief measure also allows US-based eligible broker-dealers and large financial institutions to trade these index derivative options contracts through NSE IX members, subject to compliance with applicable laws, the stock exchange said in a statement on Friday. It was stated in NSE IX was established in GIFT City in June 2017 and is an international multi-asset exchange recognized by the International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA).
In early November 2020, Gift City became the first international exchange to receive exemption under Part 30 of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The CFTC exemption allows NSE IX members to trade futures derivatives for US clients. This exemption allows NSE IX members to directly receive funds from U.S. clients for the purpose of trading futures and options contracts on NSE IX without having to register with the CFTC and SEC as a futures commission seller or SEC member, respectively.
