Nicki Minaj filmed her shocking arrest in Amsterdam on Saturday, where she was arrested and charged with “exporting soft drugs.”
THR reports that the rapper was detained at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on suspicion of “drug possession.”
Police said Minaj, who has not been named, was fined and released.
“After consultation with prosecutors, the suspect was fined and allowed to continue his trip,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Nikki has previously filmed combative interactions with Dutch officials. Accused of “transporting drugs,” Minaj can be heard claiming, “I'm not going there. I need a lawyer.”
The 41-year-old man, wondering why he was being detained, eventually got into a police car. She strongly denied any wrongdoing of her own.
The arrest led to the cancellation of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour performance in Manchester. “Despite Nicki's best efforts to explore every avenue possible to make tonight's show happen, today's events have made this impossible,” Live Nation said in her statement. We are very disappointed in the inconvenience this has caused.”
Minaj claimed on social media that the arrest was part of a plot to sabotage her tour. “They have been trying to stop me from attending every show,” she wrote on Instagram. “They took my bags before I could even see them. Put them on the plane. Now they say they're waiting for customs. After all that failed, here's what it looked like when people got paid big bucks to try to sabotage the tour. Everything they did “The work is illegal.”
