Hall of Famer Charles Barkley says he wants to punch some black people in the face who support Donald Trump. Barkley responded to the former president's recent comments suggesting the black community embrace his infamous mugshot photo.
“When I did the mugshot in Atlanta, that mugshot was number one,” Trump said at the Black Conservative Federation’s annual Honors Gala. “Do you know who took it more than who? Black population.”
“It's really amazing. Black people walking around with my mug shot!”

Trump received applause for this remark at a Black Conservative Alliance event. But NBA analyst Charles Barkley wasn't happy with the message.
And he unloaded.
“First of all, I want to say this. If you see a black man walking around with Trump's mugshot [gonna] Hit him in the face.” an original member of the Dream Team told CNN's Gayle King.
A gentle reminder that King would face assault charges was no deterrent to Barkley.
“I’m going to bail myself out and go celebrate,” he quipped.

There is some truth to Trump's claims
Barkley continued his tirade toward Trump about the mug shot comment.
“If I had been in that meeting, I would have gotten up and left. “This was an insult to all black people,” he claimed. “If you compare our history of black discrimination to his plight, first of all, he’s a billionaire and they’re prosecuting him for something he did wrong.”
Fortunately, those attending the gala weren't as easily triggered as Charles Barkley. Moreover, there is some truth to what Trump said.
Craig Scott, who was released from prison in 2019 under criminal justice reform legislation signed by President Trump, said the Republican mug shot gives him more “street cred” for those dealing with the justice system.
Scott, who described himself as a “black Robin Hood,” argued in a Newsweek op-ed that “it is this so-called 'Robin Hood' that is responsible for Trump's repeated violations of the law and what appears to be an unfair obsession with catching and disproportionately punishing him.” did. ‘Crime’ reminds many of us of what has been done to us.”
“He was literally in my shoes. No other president can boast this,” Scott added. “And believe me, he’ll brag about it.”
