ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (TCD) — A 62-year-old woman and her 29-year-old daughter have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly beating her husband with a cast-iron frying pan and a knife after he said he wanted a divorce.
Body camera footage shared by WSMV-TV shows a Cheatham County Sheriff's Office deputy approaching a shirtless man sitting on a neighbor's front porch who was “bleeding profusely from his head.” The deputy asked the man, “Are you okay?” and the man responded, “I've seen better days.”
The victim stated that he informed his wife that he wanted to divorce, and that his wife and daughter hit him with a frying pan and a knife. He said he and his wife went to bed “after arguing for hours.” He claimed they attacked him while he was sleeping, so he ran to a neighbor's house for safety.
Police went to the victim's home and found the man's wife and daughter crying on the floor. The deputy said over the radio that there was “a lot of blood” inside. Both women suffered lacerations to their arms.
The wife, identified by WSMV as Pam Davis, claimed her husband pushed her. Her daughter, Kelly Davis, showed her deputy the scars on her back and torso. She claimed her father had “done this before.”
Kelly Davis beat her father with a frying pan and a knife, while Pam Davis strangled him with a belt, according to an affidavit cited by WSMV.
WKRN-TV reported that the deputy wrote in the affidavit, “All the lacerations found on Kelly were superficial, shallow lacerations and even neck lacerations.”
Both women were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and booked into the Cheatham County Jail.
