Over the past few months, rumors have circulated that the Democratic Party is planning to nominate Joe Biden and former First Lady Michelle Obama, who enjoys an embarrassingly high level of popularity among Americans, as their candidate in this year's presidential election. Now, Obama has finally broken her silence, addressed these rumors, and revealed whether she is considering a presidential run.
Obama breaks his silence
The Daily Mail reports that Obama, 60, has publicly denied that he has any plans to run for president.
“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has stated multiple times over the years, she will not be running for president,” Crystal Carson, communications director for Obama's office, told NBC News.
“Ma’am, Obama supports the re-election campaigns of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris,” he added.
Democrats want Obama to run
That's according to a recent Rasmussen Reports survey, which found that 48% of Democratic voters polled said they favored the party “finding another candidate to replace Joe Biden before the November election,” while 38% said they opposed it. However, 33% of Democrats predict that such a voting overhaul is unlikely to occur.
As for who to replace Biden, Obama came out on top with 20% approval rating, ahead of other potential candidates, including Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and California Governor Gavin Newsom. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. ‘Not applicable’ and ‘not sure’ were also options included in the survey.
Harris came in second place after Obama with 15% who said they would choose her, and Clinton came in third place with 12% support. Newsom, who claims he is waging a “shadow campaign” for the presidency in case Biden decides to resign, ranks fourth with 11% of Democrats polling for him, while Whitmer ranks fifth with just 9%. occupied.

Obama 'scared' of presidential election
In January, Obama revealed his fears about this year's presidential election.
“What will happen in this election? “I’m scared of what’s going to happen because our leaders matter,” Obama said, according to CNN. “Who we choose, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit affects us in ways that people take for granted.”
“The fact that people are thinking, ‘Oh, is the government really doing anything?’ — And I thought, ‘Oh my God, is the government doing everything for us? ‘We cannot take this democracy for granted,’” she continued. “And sometimes I get worried. Those are the things that sustain me.”
Last year, Obama revealed why he had no plans to run for president.
“Politics is difficult,” she told Oprah Winfrey in a Netflix special. “And those who participate in it… You have to want it. It has to be in your soul. Because it's very important. It’s not in my soul.”

Obama angry at Jill Biden
In a separate 2022 interview, Obama said he 'hated' questions about whether he would run for president. However, other reports said Obama was upset after Jill Biden excluded him as her husband's running mate during the 2020 campaign.
When asked if Obama could be Joe Biden's running mate, Jill responded: “I would love it if Michelle agreed. But I think she was interested in politics. I do not know. She is so good at everything she does. Then she — I think that would be really nice.”
Two sources said Obama was outraged by this answer and wanted Jill to prepare a different answer that wouldn't completely shut the door if she were asked the question again.
Why Obama continues to remain as popular as she is is a mystery to many of us. Fortunately, she has no plans to run for president, and we can only hope she doesn't reconsider it at any point in the future.
