[Detmold, 14 May] Mews, a leader in hotel technology and cloud-based property management systems (PMS), today announced the acquisition of HS3 Hotelsoftware, an on-premise property management system founded in Germany.
This acquisition further strengthens Mews' presence in Germany and significantly improves Mews' market penetration. The acquisition comes as more hotels adopt cloud technology, with Mews increasing its customer base by 93% as Germany's post-pandemic digitalization accelerates.
Following a recent $110 million funding round, Mews is accelerating growth through expansion into key markets. Currently, Mews is used in more than 700 hotels, apartments, hostels and campsites in DACH, and more than 30,000 beds in the region are managed through Mews software. 76% of Mews customers in Germany are small and medium-sized hotels, including Hotel Oderberger, harry's home and Paulinenhof in Berlin.
“The German hotel services market is undergoing rapid changes that are raising the bar for customer experience. That’s why it’s a very exciting time to join forces with Mews, for our teams, our customers and the future of German hospitality,” said Thorsten Mesch, CEO of HS3 Hotelsoftware.

With over 3,500 customers using its software, HS3 Hotelsoftware is known for its intuitive operations and ability to make processes more efficient.
“In Germany, more and more hoteliers are embracing automation and innovation to transform the way they deliver hospitality. The changes we are seeing are not limited to large hotel groups. Richard Valtr, founder of Mews, said:
Matt Welle, CEO of Mews, added: “The DACH region has become one of our fastest growing markets, with more independent hoteliers looking to modernize their technology. The acquisition of HS3 Hotelsoftware is an important step in helping more German hoteliers use the cloud as it triples the number of rooms in Germany managed through Mews. We are delighted to welcome the outstanding team to the Mews and support them in providing HS3 customers with incredible hospitality for years to come.”
Managed by Mews Ventures to accelerate transformation in the hospitality industry, this acquisition further strengthens the company's commitment to providing technology that simplifies operations for modern hoteliers and their guests.
