Rich heritage: the rich history of Majestic Hotel & Spa
Before exploring the exciting world of Majestic Wine Dinners, it is important to appreciate the history and heritage that underpins Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona. Founded in 1918, Majestic has played an iconic role in Barcelona's architecture, society and lifestyle for over a century.
Located on the fashionable Passeig de Gràcia, Majestic is a testament to neoclassical French architecture. Its elegant exterior and sumptuous interior have hosted some of the world's most famous figures, including literary greats such as Ernest Hemingway and Antonio Machado.
Majestic Hotel & Spa's journey through time reflects the evolution of Barcelona itself. It has seen the city transform from a bustling Mediterranean port city into a vibrant international hub. Despite these changes, Majestic remained consistent, providing a luxurious and timeless escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Majestic's commitment to preserving historic essence while embracing modernity is evident in the recent five-year renovation led by interior designer Antonio Obrador. This meticulous restoration has not only restored the hotel to its original splendor, but has once again established it as an iconic Barcelona landmark.
But what truly sets Majestic apart is not just its architectural grandeur or historic guest list. It is the art of hospitality, the ability to make every guest feel like royalty, and the pursuit of excellence in every aspect of the guest experience.
The Magnificent Wine Dinner: A Paradigm Shift in Culinary Excellence
With a backdrop of rich history and commitment to excellence, Majestic Hotel & Spa launches Majestic Wine Dinners, a culinary adventure like no other. This concept is a testament to the hotel's commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining the traditional dining experience.
At the heart of Majestic Wine Dinners is a deep understanding that wine is not simply an accompaniment to a meal, but a central element around which the entire culinary experience revolves. This innovative approach challenges convention and elevates the appreciation of wine and food to a new level.
A unique approach: wine first, menu second.
Breaking away from the common practice of meticulously crafting menus before even considering wine pairings, Majestic Wine Dinners takes a bold step in the opposite direction. The hotel works closely with selected wineries that share its philosophy to create menus that perfectly harmonize with the unique aromas, flavors and textures of the wines.
This unconventional approach focuses attention on the wine itself, allowing it to set the direction of the dining experience. It is an approach that celebrates the art of winemaking and the complex nuances of each vintage, from the first sip to the last lingering lingering sensation.
Every two months, Majestic Hotel & Spa will collaborate with a renowned winery to create a culinary experience rooted in the wine itself. This collaborative effort goes beyond choosing the wine to pair with a meal. It embodies the spirit of the winery, its vision for the future, and its core values. It's an immersive journey into the world of winemaking, where every sip tells a story.
A grand beginning for Castell d'Encus winery
The first event in the Majestic Wine Dinners series is scheduled to debut on October 5, 2023, in collaboration with the renowned Castell d'Encus Winery.
