Singapore Airlines has unveiled a revamped premium economy class onboard experience, including improved and expanded food and beverage options and a new amenity kit.
Premium Economy Class customers, available on flights from 31 March 2024, will now receive a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne immediately after takeoff.
Customers can also peruse printed menu cards listing the various meal, snack and beverage options available on their flights. Meals are also served on elegant, custom-made porcelain Premium Economy Class tableware.
Flights of at least 7 hours will also receive the all-new Out of the Woods amenity kit, designed specifically for premium economy class customers.
This is the first comprehensive overhaul of SIA's Premium Economy Class onboard experience since the cabin class was introduced in 2015, allowing the airline to continue to provide a differentiated level of service to its customers.
“Premium Economy Class has been popular with our customers since its introduction in 2015,” said Yoh Phee Teik, Singapore Airlines senior vice president of customer experience.
“They rate the added amenities, increased comfort and additional personal space all as great value,” he said.
“But our philosophy at Singapore Airlines is to never stand still. We regularly collect customer feedback and conduct market research, learn more about the evolving value drivers for travelers, and find innovative ways to continue delivering personalized, world-class inflight experiences.
“Based on these insights, we believe we will deliver a comprehensive revamp of our Premium Economy Class in-flight service to delight our customers.
“The new in-flight products and in-flight entertainment systems that will be launched in the future will further strengthen our goal of providing a differentiated level of service.
“All of this reflects Singapore Airlines’ commitment to elevating the premium economy class experience to a class of its own,” he said.
Singapore Airlines has developed more than 200 new appetizers, main courses and desserts as part of its premium economy class meal expansion.
Premium Economy Class meals include a seasonal appetizer, main course, bread, dessert, cheese and crackers, all served on a large tray.
The airline has also upgraded its bread options to include croissants for breakfast and garlic bread rolls for lunch, dinner and dinner, and customers can choose from two premium main course options – international or Asian – on all flights.
Guests can also choose from an expanded Book the Cook menu featuring up to 20 rotating dishes by pre-ordering at least 24 hours before departure.
Adding to the elegant ambience, meals are served on modern stoneware glazed porcelain tableware and neatly arranged silverware on linen-lined trays.
Complementing the in-flight meal is a selection of wines and champagnes curated by a panel of wine experts exclusively for Singapore Airlines' Premium Economy Class cabin.
Between meals, customers can request new snack options such as almonds and cashews, which are in addition to the existing variety of snacks such as potato chips, assorted breads, sandwiches, muffins and flavored popcorn.
Singapore Airlines has also partnered with Out of the Woods, a US-based manufacturer of eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle products, to launch a new amenity kit for premium economy class customers.
The amenity pouch is made from eco-friendly Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified kraft paper fabric, and includes an eye mask and slippers made from recycled PET material.
The kit also includes lip balm packaged in biodegradable material. Toiletries such as dental kits and moisturizers can still be used in the bathroom.
