The launch of a new route is always exciting, both for travelers looking to visit new places and for the AvGeeks covering the events themselves.
On May 31, Lufthansa launched a new nonstop service between Seattle and Munich using the A350. The airline already offers daily service between Seattle and Frankfurt, a route that opened in 2008. It is flown by A330 and A340.

The new service will operate SEA-MUH on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays with flight LH488, departing at 6.50pm and arriving in Munich at 1.45pm the following day. The MUC-SEA route is LH488 and departs every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 3:30 PM, arriving in Seattle at 4:59 PM.

Lufthansa is a Star Alliance member and offers easy connections with 26 member airlines.

Since I was in the terminal with all my cameras, I couldn't help but take pictures of the other planes.

The launch of Lufthansa marks SEA's third new international service in 2024 (the first two this year are Hainan's Chongqing route and Alaska Airlines' Toronto route), bringing the total to 50 services to 25 airlines and 33 international destinations. I will do it.

Two fire trucks were stationed on either side of the gate to provide an arch via water cannon for the first arrivals.

It was a beautiful day out on the ramp to record the arrivals.
