“Stranger Things” Season 5 star Linda Hamilton may be getting ready to venture out to Hawkins, Indiana — hopefully with some tunes to Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” on her Walkman — but even though she’s a fan, she’s not watching the final season. I won't watch it. This is a Netflix drama show inspired by the 80s-style “Dungeons & Dragons.”
In an interview with Us Weekly!, the actor said that while he “enjoyed” each season of the show, being cast for the final season “ruined” his viewing experience.
“When you buy something, you can’t see yourself in it. So I think that ruined the show. i never see [a project] Once I get into something,” Hamilton explained. “Seeing myself there would take me completely out of reality. So I won't see it [Season 5].”
The actor is one of the few new cast members joining the hit sci-fi series for its final run. However, her role is being kept a secret from audiences. Even showrunners Ross and Matt Duffer gave Hamilton “the look of the characters, not the story.”
“They have to be very careful with their stories,” Hamilton added. “So I still don’t know how it ends. It takes a lot of discipline to not know where it's going to go. But that’s to protect it from everyone who wants to know.”
Hamilton said he is having a great time on the show, which began production on January 8. 'Stranger Things' official Instagram began filming on the first day of production by posting photos of the entire cast. Since then, they've continued to post various photos to tease the hotly anticipated finale and build hype.
Hamilton jokingly noted that her friends would constantly text her about where she was on set so she could try to piece together and decipher bits of the show's coveted lore and lore.
Recently, cast member Gaten Matarazzo, who plays fan-favorite Dustin Henderson, appeared at MegaCon Orlando (via CBR) and was asked what changes he would make to the show's first four seasons, and the actor didn't hold back. She's saying more characters should have died.
“It may sound crazy, but we have to kill more people,” Matarazzo said. “This show would be much better if the stakes were much higher. Any of these kids could start at any time. “We all feel too safe.”
Production on the season is already in full swing, but there's no word on when the finale will air on Netflix. With many film and TV productions halted due to the Hollywood strike, it's highly unlikely that Season 5 will debut before 2025.
