We definitely like the Lightyear Frontier a bit. One thing the demo taught us is that not everything is always clear in this beautiful little living/farming sim with a chill No Man's Sky vibe.
From the beginning, tasks will pop up in a window in the top right corner of your HUD, one of which is Restore Pine Heights. Everything is great. Except I don't know where it is or what to do when I find it. Now let's solve that problem.
It's a multi-part process, so let's get started.
How to Restore Pine Heights
First, check the map (M key on PC). From here you can see the starting area and Pine Heights to the northwest. It's actually a fairly large area compared to the initial map, but there's no point to head there yet. . After recovering the machine, you first need to find all the missing tools.
Take your Mech and move around the map until you have collected all the tools indicated. You can spot them on the terrain because the wreckage emits colored smoke.
We will now use two tools to restore Pine Heights. The first thing you need is a vacuum harvester. Approach the TOOL WHEEL (Q) to find a puddle of water. Although there is a lot of water, the vacuum cleaner does not have enough resources to complete the job, requiring multiple visits. It's a little annoying, but so is life. Use a vacuum harvester to suck up water until the meter fills.
Now we can head to Pine Heights. This place was named so because it contains a lot of pine trees, which are the source of softwood.
If necessary, use the map to get to Pine Heights. Here you have to wash away the noxious slime puddle with the clean water you just inhaled. By converting your tool into an irrigation hose, you can now spray water on the slime to get rid of it.
Don't be too alarmed and use the correct amount as you will soon need to refill and recharge your pond.
As you move quickly to remove the slime, the percentage bar will fill up to show how close you are to restoring Pine Heights. FYI, it will go up slower than you'd like. There's a lot of slime hanging around, and it's a pretty big space, so it's easy to miss a patch or two and have a hard time filling your bar and getting the job done.
The best advice for finding anything is to look for anything left at night when it is more clearly lit and higher up.
When all is gone, Pine Heights is restored. Mission accomplished.
