Advances in AI technology can be intimidating, even overwhelming, but they open up a whole new set of tools that can help you get through your day.
At Microsoft Edge, we've been developing AI-powered tools to help you search smarter and achieve more than you ever thought possible. And there’s no better time than now to make AI work for you.
To get you started, we're sorting out the best AI-based tools you didn't know you needed.
Find exactly what you want faster.
Microsoft Copilot tops this list as your everyday AI companion, saving you faster time on common tasks like starting a draft message or finding the information you need. But did you know that you can do more with Copilot when you access it from the Edge? Edge not only allows you to request information from Copilot; also Ask questions about information you're seeing in your browser – At home or on the go. Let's say you're using Copilot to conduct research on gardening. As you look at the “Gardening 101” article, you can get clarification on specific parts of the text by simply highlighting the text you want to ask Copilot a question about. That's not all. Last month we added: More features Copilot only available on Edge:
- A new feature of Copilot in Edge is Video Highlights.. Now with Copilot in Edge, you can find exactly what you need within your video in less time. Take the example of gardening. Let's say you find a good beginner's guide video. Copilot in Edge breaks it down into clickable timestamps so you can jump to the most important parts of the video or return to specific parts you want to watch again. You can also ask Copilot questions about the video, such as “What does this video say about the best time of year to start a garden?” This saves time not only for DIY projects, but also for educational videos and more – even when capturing sports highlights!
- Now you can use screenshots in Copilot to find exactly what you're looking for.. For example, if you find a photo of a plant you like but don't have any other information about, all you have to do is use the screenshot tool in Edge's Copilot and display a message like “What is the name of this plant?” This feature is now generally available in Edge.
Keep your browser organized
Browsers are a central part of our online lives. We work in it, learn in it, manage our finances, entertain ourselves, shop and do it all, often in the same window. It's no surprise that organizing your tabs is becoming more and more necessary. AI can also help you keep your browser organized.
In addition to being able to vertically align tabs and pin tabs, Edge can also use the power of AI to automatically organize tabs into groups. Automatic grouping of tabs is an AI-based tool that was launched in September last year and has received great feedback so far. Automatic grouping of tabs helps you organize your tabs in less time. For example, as you get deeper into your gardening studies, you'll probably have a lot of tabs – from articles, to shopping, to videos – that you'll want to organize and keep for future reference. To access tabbed groups simply Tab Action Menu Next to the tabs, select: Tab Configuration In Microsoft Edge, you can group things by relevance and assign them names and colors. You can also tell Copilot to group similar tabs in chat, and it'll do it in no time. Tab groups are automatically pinned by default, so even if you close the browser, they will remain there when you return. It also puts inactive tab groups into sleep mode to improve the performance of active groups, ensuring you get the best browser performance.
