Pudu Technology Co. today launched its latest generation delivery and receiving robot, KettyBot Pro. The service robot is designed to address workforce shortages in the retail and restaurant industries and enhance customer engagement, the company said.

The company said the latest additions to its commercial service robots include the following new features:
- Passability upgrades: The new RGBD depth camera with ultra-wide angle capability, which improves the robot's object detection and avoidance capabilities, reduces KettyBot's minimum spacing from 55 cm to 52 cm (21.6 to 20.4 inches) under ideal conditions. This allows the robot to navigate narrow aisles and operate in busy restaurants and stores.
- Smart Tray Inspection: Pudu claims this feature is an “industry first.” The robot uses a fisheye camera above the tray to detect the presence or absence of objects in the tray.
