Kelsea Ballerini has filed for a temporary restraining order against a fan who accused her of distributing her unfinished music without permission.
The “Penthouse” singer called for a TRO against Bo Ewing. Ballerini claimed that Bo Ewing “secretly accessed, copied and distributed unreleased masters and demos still in production without permission or authorization” for his music.
“Defendant has already disseminated the recordings to numerous third parties,” court documents state. “This song is not complete and there is no manuscript available for distribution or permission for distribution at this time.”
Ewing is described in court papers as a “former member of Ms. Ballerini’s fan club” and “a past supporter of her career,” who “has since been stripped of her rights by Ms. Ballerini.”
“[Ewing] “We have a history of hacking other famous musicians’ accounts and improperly obtaining their works and information,” he said.
Ballerini, Black River Entertainment and producer Alysa Vanderheym were granted an injunction to prevent “lasting and irreparable harm” from further unauthorized disclosure of the unfinished recordings.
