Andrew Weissmann posted that Trump's agreement to receive bonds could be compared to when Paul Manafort used the promise of a position in the Trump administration to obtain bank loans.
This may seem reminiscent of when Manafort received a $16 million loan approved by bank CEO Stephen Kalk while he was seeking a position in the Trump administration. Calk was found guilty by a jury in Manhattan. Press release from DOJ â¬‡ï¸ https://t.co/WAFC0JBLQY https://t.co/TmGwu2K1s9

As with seemingly everything Trump-related, it's unknown what kind of promises he made to secure the bond. Trump has already been charged with 91 felonies, so it wouldn't be surprising if he committed a few more crimes to avoid paying E. Jean Carroll.
Judge Kaplan must grant bail, and there is no certainty that he will.
Trump may have raised bonds to appeal the E. Jean Carroll ruling, but he still needs to raise $454 million for New York state.
