On Monday, John Legend took to 'The Voice' with his two favorite advisors, his eldest sons Luna and Miles, for a top five finale performance.
“Extra” spoke with John, who cooked for Miles as he celebrated his 6th birthday in Monster Jam with his kindergarten friends over the weekend.
The party at SoFi Stadium was “a blast” for Miles, who “still loves trucks, cars and dinosaurs.”
About his kids being on ‘The Voice,’ Legend said: “They love watching the first weeks of life and now they’re back for the finale. I look forward to seeing how Team Legend turns out. We’re going to show up tonight and show.”
He told his teammates, “You can’t beat someone else. He needs to be his best self. The standard is excellence, and the standard is to be the best. [that] You can do that and not have to worry about what other people are doing.”
He continued, “I told my artists, 'Focus on who you are.' You come here with a vision of the type of music you want to make, and America bought into that vision to the point where they asked you to be on the finale.” He said. For this show… you just have to give your best, give it your all, show your passion, show your connection.'”
John's wife, Chrissy Teigen, graced the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit during an at-home photo shoot.
Legend said, “I was so proud,” and “I went there for a photo shoot… I know the photographer, Yu Tsai, well, and the entire SI team has been there for a long time… The entire team was like family to us, and we were all around us for the shoot. “It was a family experience, Chrissy felt so comfortable, we all felt so comfortable, and the photos turned out so beautiful.”
When asked how Chrissy got him to work on set, John said, “Oh, I was there too. I was rooting for her. I was like, 'ooh-ing, ah-ing'.” And Yu Tsai asked me which one. [photos] I was showing him what I liked best. So I was there as a stage husband.”
