Janelle Brown shares a new tribute to her son.
A few days after Garrison Brown's funeral on March 9 (which included members of the Sister Wives family remembering the late 25-year-old), Janelle uploaded two new images of Garrison to Instagram.
The snapshot includes several of her children's cats, along with a photo from the website of High Country Humane and Ark Cat Sanctuary in Flagstaff, Arizona.
“I cried again. I’m hearing about everyone’s donations to @highcountryhumane @arkcatsancutary in Garrison’s name,” Janelle wrote in the caption of her post on Tuesday.
“Thank you for all your generosity. It really means a lot. The cats he adopted from both organizations were very important to him.
“He loved being a cat dad.”
As confirmed by local authorities in Flagstaff, Garrison's body was discovered by his brother on March 5 inside his home in Arizona after Garrison sent concerned text messages to friends.
Police reported that Garrison died of an “apparent suicide.”
Janelle and Garrison's father, Kody Brown, shared the devastating news last week in a joint statement:
“Cody and I are very saddened to announce the death of our beautiful son, Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him.
“His loss will leave a breathtaking hole in our lives.
“We ask that you respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
Moments later, Janelle shared a second social media post in honor of her son.
The mother of six attended one final holiday get-together with Kody's children, sharing photos from their family photoshoot with the world.
“Gathered all the kids together last Christmas,” Janelle captioned her March 8 Instagram post.
“It’s hard to coordinate time like this because everyone lives busy lives, but it was amazing.
“Now thank you so much for taking the picture.”
Other members of the Sister Wives family have also spoken out several times over the heartbreaking events over the past few days.
For example, in a post on Instagram Sunday, Christine Brown remembered Garrison by sharing a photo of her family and writing:
“Any photo with Garrison in it is now more important than ever.
“I’m struggling to get another glimpse of this amazing man, brother and son… #I always miss you #I miss you #Enough.”
Many observers have sadly pointed out that Kody has yet to make a statement himself.
As previously documented on Sister Wives, he and Garrison almost stopped talking more than two years ago due to Kody's strict COVID-19 rules and regulations.
In a 2022 confessional, Janelle expressed serious concerns about her son's lack of connection with his father as a result of these protocols, which prohibited Kody's children from meeting their friends or significant others.
“I was worried about my sons’ mental health. Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he’s also a kid who doesn’t say anything.” Then Janelle spoke.
She later added that Garrison “seems upset or sadder, like he's not as happy as he used to be.”
We're told that going forward, Season 19 of Sister Wives will primarily revolve around this terrible tragedy.
