An Italian model and receptionist who worked at last year's Met Gala has claimed she was fired three days before this year's event for flaunting Kylie Jenner at last year's gala.
Eugenio Casnighi says he is being punished by his agency (unidentified) for going viral over a photo of the reality star posing on the red carpet.
The 26-year-old said he has been working at the gala, the fashion world's most anticipated red carpet event, for the past two years. His mission was to “stay with Kylie Jenner all night” and help her “with whatever she needs.”
Despite confirming his attendance a month in advance, he claims he was notified less than three days before being told he was no longer welcome.
“I just got fired from the Met Gala,” Casnighi said in a video to her TikTok followers.
The Italian model said she couldn't get attention because she was previously under NDA, but “funny enough, they fired me, so now I can say whatever I want.”
Regarding the reason for his last-minute elimination from the event, he said, “I ended up paying the price for losing the attention of celebrities because of my appearance.”
“They blamed me,” he said. “They said, ‘We don’t want to work with you anymore because you did that to yourself.’”
He added, “They informed me today that they have stopped contacting me.” “They fired me last year because I went viral.”
Casnighi was upset about the matter, saying the company she signed with assured her that the purpose of her recruitment was to increase her profile as a model.

“It’s funny because the Met Gala and companies I won’t mention want models to work on the red carpet,” he said.
“They want people to notice. They literally said, 'We chose you because we like you better than everyone else.'
“But when people take pictures of real celebrities like Kylie Jenner and I’m right next to them, of course I’m in the picture.”
Independent The Metropolitan Museum has been contacted for comment.
This year's gala, sponsored by Condé Nast, Loewe and TikTok, is expected to be a parade of organic glamour, featuring archival couture and custom-made designs that express timeless beauty through natural elements.
Co-chairs for the evening included Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez and Bad Bunny. popularityRed carpet hosts will be La La Anthony, Gwendoline Christie, Ashley Graham and correspondent Emma Chamberlain.
This year's theme celebrates fashion's “Sleeping Beauty” rather than a Disney fairytale. Inside the exhibition, 250 pieces from the Costume Institute's permanent collection are on display, some dating back to the Elizabethan era.
