A hospital in Delhi has successfully surgically removed 39 coins and 37 magnets from the intestines of a man who had ingested them under the mistaken belief that zinc would aid bodybuilding.
A 26-year-old patient, known to be mentally ill, visited the emergency room after doctors at Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital complained of persistent vomiting and abdominal pain that lasted for more than 20 days. wion It has been reported.

The patient's family said the patient had suffered from intestinal obstruction by eating coins and magnets for several weeks.
A computed tomography (CT) scan confirmed the accumulation, indicating a significant need for medical attention, requiring immediate surgical intervention.
The medical team succeeded in extracting 39 coins containing INR 1, 2, and 5, 37 magnets, and magnets of various shapes such as heart, sphere, star, bullet, and triangle from the patient's digestive tract.
After the successful procedure, an X-ray examination confirmed that all foreign substances had been removed, and the patient was discharged in good health after a week of hospitalization.

The patient later revealed that he swallowed a magnet to see if the coins would remain in his intestines to enhance zinc absorption and thereby aid bodybuilding.
