Another productive day in Denali! Team 1, led by Peter Dale, is moving up to 14,000 feet, where they will set up camp and settle in for rest and recovery. The camp at 14000′ is filled with teams from all over the world and the emergency medical facility is staffed by Denali National Park rangers.
Team 2, led by Riley Gilson, will travel again today, where they will encounter motorcycle hills and windy corners at 13,500 inches and store food and supplies. Named “Motorcycle Hill” because of its resemblance to the steep hills of motocross, it is one of the first steep hills they encounter.
Team 3, led by Justin Sackett, is moving into camp at 11000' and with sunset at 11pm there is plenty of daylight for travel and camp chores. Above the fog, you can see straight into the Kahiltna Glacier, the tundra, and even the strait. Once again rest, recovery and good food are very important!
Good luck to our team! Which team do you follow?
