An illegal immigrant apprehended at the southern border reportedly admitted to being a member of Hezbollah and planning to travel to New York to “build a bomb.”
The harrowing story of Bassel Ebadi, a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Lebanon, was first reported in the New York Post on Sunday.
The outlet obtained a document from the U.S. Border Patrol outlining the “terrorist threat” Ebadi posed to employees.
The illegal alien “claimed to be a member of a foreign terrorist organization,” according to the document.
The organization was identified by the Post as Hezbollah. The group recently expressed support for the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel in October 2023. The attack killed more than 1,100 people, including 767 civilians and 36 children.
When asked, “What are you doing here in the United States?” Ebadi replied, “Trying to make a bomb.”

Internal ICE documents obtained by the Post appear to show the man claiming to be an involuntary terrorist. In an interview with officials, Ebbadi claimed “he did not want to kill anyone.”
Moreover, he suggested joining a terrorist group, saying, “Once you enter, you can never leave.”
Ebbadi wasn't a recent recruit either. In discussions with officials, he admitted to being a member of Hezbollah for many years.
According to the post, the focus of his mission was on 'jihad' and killing 'non-Muslims'.

pouring across the border from the middle east
Political Insider reported based on data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) immediately after the Israeli terrorist attack.
Thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East have been apprehended at the southern border over the past two years, according to available data.
The numbers show illegal immigrants crossing borders from numerous countries known to be terrorist hideouts.
Shortly after the report came out, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump unveiled a wide-ranging platform designed to prevent “anti-American, anti-Semitic foreigners” from continuing to infiltrate the country.
Trump has pledged to implement “robust ideological screening” of all potential immigrants if elected. People with known sympathies for jihad and Hamas would be automatically disqualified under the plan.
🚨 Donald Trump said he would reinstate the travel ban if elected. “If you come from a place full of people who want to kill Americans, we won’t let you in.”

Recent alarming reports of illegal immigrants trying to build bombs in New York are very concerning. This comes at a time when border agents are seeing a surge in encounters with people on terrorism watch lists who are entering the U.S. illegally.
Moreover, these worrying trends raise serious concerns about potential threats to national security.
This incident highlights the need for enhanced security measures and vigilance to prevent potential threats to public safety and national security.
And it's important to remember that Ebbadi is almost certainly one of many others. Some people cross into the United States illegally to avoid detection.
