A spokesperson for Ian McKellen said the veteran actor was doing well after falling off stage during a performance at a London theatre.
In a statement shared with mirrorA representative for Ian said, “We would like to thank the audience and public for their support in response to Ian's fall during the 'Player Kings' performance this evening.”
He added: “The scans have given the NHS team confidence he will make a speedy and full recovery and Ian is in good spirits.”
A spokesperson said: “The production team has decided to cancel the show on Tuesday 18 June to allow Ian to rest. Those affected will be contacted through their point of purchase as soon as possible tomorrow.”
Regarding Ian's medical staff, the official added, “We would like to thank Dr. Rachel and Dr. Ian who were with us in the audience, as well as all the on-site staff who supported us.”
