To protect wildlife movements that are hindered by congested roads, a series of artificial overpasses and underpasses have been installed across the United States to allow animals large and small to safely cross roads, preventing collisions and saving lives. About 1,500 of these structures have already been built. Correspondent Conor Knighton looks at how roadkill has been significantly reduced while protecting the genetic diversity of animal populations. He also visits the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing site near Los Angeles. Once completed, this site will help mountain lions cross one of America's busiest highways.
