Once you get there, you will see everything you have studied and planned for so many years become a reality. Think white dusty beaches along the coast of the Bahamas, trekking through dark green foliage somewhere in Peru, or road trips across the United States. The windows are rolled down, the sun is shining softly, and Google Maps is guiding you where to go. Or in my case, where you shouldn't go when looking for vegan food in Bulgaria. But that's a different story.
(Don't worry, Google Maps and I eventually did it. My husband and I discovered some warm, mouth-watering vegan cuisine in the central city of Sofia, Bulgaria.)
Even if you can't travel now, you can dream of future trips and plan fun times ahead. How do you plan the perfect travel checklist with health and wellness in mind? What items should you pack or leave at home?
Combining travel checklist and wellness
One thing I've learned in my health and wellness journey is the art of incorporating wellness into packaging. At first, it seemed a little strange to try to link wellness with packing and travel planning. But the more I practiced, the less stressful the trip became on my body and mind.

Travel Checklist Guide
Decide how much luggage you want to bring.
One way to reduce travel stress is to decide how much luggage you want to take two weeks before your trip. If you're flying, it's a good idea to read about airline baggage weight limits. Baggage weight limits change frequently, so always check back before you fly. We'll let you know if you'll get a free 50-pound checked bag, a free carry-on bag, or just a personal item with your ticket.
On the other hand, trains have different baggage limits and passengers can carry more baggage. The best part is, there is no extra charge for bringing an extra bag or two! (Otherwise I won't tell anyone.) Check with the train company for exact instructions. For road trips, make sure you can see through the rear-view mirror and are comfortable in the car.
Decide what type of experience you want and sign up for travel insurance. ASAP
You can't prepare for everything, but you can pack as best as you can for what lies ahead. For example, if you want to experience international adventure travel at your destination, include a travel checklist that includes options for adventurous items such as underwater protective phone cases, outdoor sandals, sunscreen, selfie sticks, etc.
After thinking about what kind of experience you want, Buy travel insurance.
In my opinion, it's a good idea to get travel insurance as soon as possible in case you need to change your flight or an emergency arises. Depending on the type of travel experience you want (e.g. bungee jumping, etc.) and what you bring (e.g. expensive cameras, etc.), you may be able to add additional coverage for this assistance.
For those traveling for long periods of time safety wings It's a great option. Another option is travel insurance masterGood for short trips.
Note: If you are thinking about signing up for travel insurance, I understand. This can be confusing and becomes another expense after an expensive trip. But at the same time, it's the best way to protect your health and travel. And health is your best asset. If you have any questions, I'll let you know. Here's everything you need to know about travel insurance.
Add a copy of your driver's license and passport to your travel checklist.
Traveling is an adventure full of excitement and new experiences, but you don't want to feel that way about your personal documents. The best way to protect your personal documents is to make copies. Make copies of:
- passport
- driver's license
- Credit card
- Medical insurance
- travel insurance
Leave one copy of the document at home with your loved one and take the other copy with you when you travel.
destination research
Researching your destination will not only help you pack your bags, but it will also give you more travel tips tailored to your destination. This will help you choose the right clothes to pack, give you insight into the culture you'll experience, and give you more ideas about what to do in a particular city.
For example, if you're planning a trip to Barcelona next year, here's a list of 50 things to do in Barcelona, Spain to help you plan your dream itinerary.
Start packing early to avoid pre-travel stress
Yes, it's important! Have you ever felt stressed two days before your trip, running around until the last minute to buy more things to put in your suitcase? Or will a clothes bomb explode in the room, causing clothes to cover the entire floor? You pack one set of clothes, throw away your suitcase, pack another set of clothes, and end up packing everything at 1 a.m. on the day of departure. (I have to admit, this has been my general packaging strategy.)
Packing early may be the solution. In the days leading up to your trip, not only can you relax to avoid stress (essential oils and massages do the same!), but you can also keep your normal routine intact. I've found that using both of these healthy travel tips can help you relieve stress and make you a happier, healthier traveler.

Purchase packing cubes or bags to keep things organized.
I personally love this product from Amazon! These travel checklist items will make it relatively easy to find items in your suitcase since all your clothes and gear now have a home. It can also help you avoid overpacking since you'll know what gear and clothes to put in each cube.
Add slippers to your travel checklist
This is probably the first thing you check off your packing list for your vacation. Flip flops or sandals are very versatile. In cold weather, you can use them as slippers to keep your feet warm from the cold tiles, or as bath shoes on spa days. (I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so slippers are a must for day spa trips.) On the other hand, in hot weather, this makes for an excellent summer wardrobe choice. On pool days, if you're staying in a hostel, wear new shower shoes.
Pack plenty of healthy travel snacks
Aim to pack healthy travel foods rich in fiber, protein, and fat. I'm not a nutrition expert, but my husband and I find that using these healthy travel snack hacks helps everyone's stomachs and moods improve. - trail mix
- granola bar
