We've done it before. We can do it again.
For 25 years, MoveOn members have been on the front lines of elections, mobilizing communities and providing voters with the resources they need to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
This year, MoveOn is unveiling a $32 million election program to re-elect President Biden, secure another Democratic trifecta, and protect American democracy from Donald Trump. Our persuasion program will be the most ambitious election program ever and is designed to once again crush the Biden-Harris coalition and continue the fight for progressive change for all.

2024 priority race
where we win
goal race
President Biden's re-election to the Oval Office: MoveOn will play a key role in the Biden-Harris ticket campaign in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan and Georgia.
House Victory: The path to a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives is clear but not easy. To regain control, a minority of seats must be flipped. Since early last year, MoveOn members have been organizing on the ground in “contested caucus” constituencies. These are 18 swing districts that Biden carried in 2020 but Republicans won in 2022. In total, MoveOn is targeting more than two dozen seats that offer the best seats to Democrats. We're gunning to take back the House in 2024.
Protecting Senate Majority: With 34 seats up for re-election, we need all hands on deck to preserve our razor-thin Senate majority. MoveOn primarily invests in the Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, and Ohio senators.
how we win
Rapidly increasing voter mobilization through the power of volunteers
MoveOn's 2024 organization will persuade and mobilize “surge voters” – people who voted for the first time or who have voted more actively since the 2016 election. MoveOn is focusing on young voters and voters who did not vote in 2016 and/or 2022 within a population of more than 11 million voters across targeted regions. Young people are voting at higher rates than previous generations. , rejects MAGA by 20 points. Getting these key voters to the polls will give them the margin they need to win.
Because it's important to start the conversation with voters now, we'll begin contacting voters earlier than ever before, reaching voters most at risk of missing the election and deploying our volunteer base to encourage them to vote. Thousands of volunteers will take action between now and Election Day and engage in our persuasion and relationship turnout programs, driving tens of thousands of persuasion contacts.
Hundreds of MoveOn members have already registered as vote mobilizers. They will lead voter outreach programs in their communities by hosting house parties and training and organizing fellow member volunteers. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the opportunity to build community through direct action will provide additional motivation to join this effort to influence the election!
Building on consistent research from the Analyst Institute and MoveOn's previous election efforts showing that multiple contacts through different communication channels have a greater impact than a single connection, we use three methods to reach voters during the persuasion phase: This will create hierarchical contact. Voters are more likely to remember your volunteer work. MoveOn volunteers will use a variety of contact methods to reach voters throughout the spring and summer, including postcards, phone banks and polls. They will talk to voters about the importance of the election and the issues they care about, sell the victories progressives and Democrats have won, and make a practical and strategic case for why their vote matters.
Maximize influence by tripling voter turnout
In the fall, we will focus on tripling voter turnout. This is a practice that encourages voters to contact three of their friends and family to remind them to vote, help them make a plan, and encourage them to turn out. This can be done via text, online, over the phone, or in person.
3x voting is up to 5x more effective than traditional methods because it builds on existing trusted relationships. In the 2022 midterm elections, MoveOn's Triple Vote program reached an estimated 48,000 to 50,000 voters in battleground states and states. That's tens of thousands of voters who would otherwise have stayed home.
Shaping public and media narratives
Member- and volunteer-driven voter outreach efforts will be further complemented by paid communications and MoveOn's traditional rapid response campaigns.
The 2024 election program is as follows:
- put into action Large-scale digital and TV advertising campaigns—Includes Trump’s criminal trial period.
- Take advantage of our massive social media influence It has waged a strong educational campaign against the most unpopular policies Trump has promised donors, including his authoritarian agenda and further erosion of our freedoms and rights.
- Center communities disenfranchised by Trump policies—It shows just how serious the threats to our country are, from those affected by abortion bans to communities of color targeted by voter suppression policies. MoveOn members will share their stories about why this election is important to them and show their videos as ads to surge voters most likely to be persuaded.
Protecting Democracy from Trump and Third Party Threats
If Trump, twice impeached and criminally indicted, returns to the Oval Office, our fundamental freedoms and institutions are at risk. He and his advisors have made it clear that they will destroy democracy and our rights.
And we must prevent third-party candidates from disrupting the Democratic Party's victory. The data shows that unless third-party spoilers like RFK Jr. step aside, 2016 is sure to repeat itself.
