House Republicans told reporters their reason for blocking legislation to help with border issues is because it keeps Biden's approval ratings low.

Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) told CNN, “What are we going to do right now to help that 33%? If Joe Biden's approval rating is 53%, do you believe we'll even be talking about the border? We're not going to talk about the southern border. But he's bleeding so he has to do something. He's bleeding. “So what he’s trying to do is get a bipartisan border security plan through the Senate.”
House Republicans acknowledge that the “border crisis” isn’t really about the border. The border crisis is an attempt to keep President Biden's approval ratings low and increase the Republicans' chances of winning the November election.
Republicans see the border bill as nothing more than politics. There is no incentive to pass legislation because it might benefit the country.
House Republicans seem to have forgotten that they are being paid to govern, not to use Congress as an election platform, so they are willing to do damage to America in order to lower Joe Biden's approval ratings.
Republicans got everything they wanted in the border bill and still rejected it. Because the border is really about Biden.
