On Sunday, Florence Pugh brought some bold glamor to the New York premiere of “Dune: Part Two.”
'Extra's' Mona Kosar Abdi spoke with Florence, who discussed her character and the film's ending.
In the film, Pugh plays Princess Irulan, which is “one of the most different” roles she's ever played.
Describing her character as “opinionated” but “silent,” Pugh said, “I think it's been really interesting to find a new, strong, powerful woman in her own way. She's calculating, powerful, skilled, and gets the job done.” “It’s a dot dot movie.”
Florence said she is excited to see how her character will evolve in the future.
Pugh shared many scenes with the legendary Christopher Walken. “All my stuff was with Chris,” she said. “I even styled my hair like Chris in the movie.”
Florence spoke about Christopher and said: “I got to work with an actor I grew up loving, respecting and learning from. I basically ended up with this legend that I've been obsessed with literally since I was a kid. As you can imagine, it’s just a dream.”
Pugh also spoke about the “joy” of making the film with the other actors and how blessed it was to be able to do the press tour together.
“It’s so easy to work with someone you respect and love,” she said. You always wanted it to be easy, and you wanted it to be fun. It was so much fun making this film with them, and it was an absolute blessing to have everyone be free to do this press together. ”
“It’s a celebration of love, and it’s such a wonderful feeling to have it,” Florence said.
'Dune: Part 2' will be released on March 1.
