Update May 11 – In a new video construction update posted on YouTube by Jack Silkstone, we can see that the new entrance sign is now installed and work is underway to complete it with the name and wings in place.
The speakers have been programmed to the lift hill, which is currently being tested as the train is dispatched and begins its ascent of Britain's tallest roller coaster at 236ft.
The most interesting part of this update is when we get to see the first human rider behind Hyperia at timestamp 6:00. This shows that we have now entered the human testing phase where MACK Rides staff will begin testing.
At timestamp 7:30 we can see the new queue shop under construction. Landscaping work continues around the site. The fence posts have all been installed in the queue and are now waiting for the gold panels to be added.
On-site cabins have been removed and a plaza is expected to be added in preparation for Hyperia's official opening on Friday 24 May.

May 8 – After months of construction, it is now May. This means we are just a few weeks away from Hyperia's official opening at Thorpe Park on Friday 24 May.
We can see all the latest updates in a new Hyperia construction video posted on YouTube by Jack Silkstone. First, Hyperia has a huge entrance portal, which can be seen at timestamp 0:51. Gold fencing is currently being installed on the queue lines.
Testing is currently continuing during the day for both trains, so field work, including splashdowns and installing speakers on the lift hill, will take place both in the evening and at night once testing is complete.
At timestamp 6:15 we are told that Hyperia's ride camera will be at the bottom of the dip just before ascending to the outer bank elements.
As we get closer to the official opening of Hyperia at Thorpe Park on Friday 27th April – 24th May, it is exciting to see the latest progress being made on site.

In Hyperia's first test run on April 16, the train climbed the lift hill at a speed of 0.5 meters per second. We were told that the train was expected to run down the lift hill as usual at a speed of 5 meters per second.
There will be four queue lines at Hyperia, including disabled access, fast track, single rider and regular queue. It is thought there will be two rows merging at the base of the stairs, with two rows going up the stairs with single riders on one side and a regular/fast track on the other. Customers who cannot use the stairs can go down the stairs to the left and use the elevator.
Lighting and audio are being added to the exterior and interior of the station building. At timestamp 7:20 you can see the splashdown effect in action at the end of the ride, with the pump currently being installed.
Work is underway on a Hyperia gift shop, which will include in-ride photos and a variety of Hyperia merchandise. At timestamp 9:50 we see close-up footage of the second Hyperia train that recently arrived at Thorpe Park. Currently it is still covered in plastic, but we expect to have it covered, checked and filled with water dolls soon to begin testing. April 17 – It was a sight British theme park fans had been waiting for for a long time. Yesterday (16 April) Hyperia at Thorpe Park conducted its first full test.
In a video posted to YouTube by Jack Silkstone, who has followed Hyperia's entire construction from the beginning, we see the train climb to the top of the 236-foot lift hill and complete its first test run.
When Hyperia opens at Thorpe Park on Friday 24 May, it will take the crown from The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach as the UK's tallest roller coaster. It will also break the record for the fastest roller coaster in the UK held by nearby roller coaster Stealth at Thorpe Park.
For those who want to get the full feel of being in the park when Hyperia ran its first full test, Theme Park Worldwide hosted a live stream, which is included below. As you can see in the video, going up the lift hill was a very slow first climb.
We are excited to see further testing, landscaping and preparation being completed over the coming weeks ahead of Hyperia’s official opening on Friday 24th May.
April 16 – The last few days have become more exciting as Hyperia's trains move from the maintenance building to the station.
This was captured in a new video posted to YouTube by Jack Silkstone, embedded below. At timestamp 4:34 we see and hear that testing preparations are now fully underway, including extensive safety parameters, including the additional installation of a ride fence with temporary signage. This fence will be replaced with permanent signage before opening.
Now that the Hyperia train is on the tracks, engineers can complete preparations for on-board testing, which is expected to begin soon. As you can see in the video, the water dolls are already ready for testing and placed on the train. These water puppets will allow MACK rides and Thorpe Park to simulate the body to ensure all testing has been completed and everything is ready for Hyperia's grand opening on Friday 24 May.
April 13 – The Hyperia train is now open to the public at Thorpe Park. In a new video posted to YouTube by Jack Silkstone, we can see the entire journey of the Hyperia train from the moment it arrives at Thorpe Park to the grand unveiling of the maintenance building on the Hyperia site.
So it was on Tuesday March 26th that the train arrived at the engineering yard located behind Swarm.
At timestamp 2:07 we can see the train unloading from a truck in the park covered in white protective cellophane.
On April 10, trains began arriving at the Hyperia site in the maintenance building. A grand reveal video released by Thorpe Park yesterday (April 12) shows the five carriages of the first Hyperia train. Each car seats four passengers, for a total of 20 passengers per train.
At timestamp 11:30 we get a very close look at the Hyperia train with Silkstone film underneath the train showing the wheel configuration, magnets and anti-rollback.
Hyperia vehicles feature traditional clamshell MACK Rides restraints with wrap bars rather than over-the-shoulder harnesses, giving riders a feeling of freedom when riding. Same as the ICON at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
The wings are on the front car with the Thorpe Park name on them. The orange and black colors stand out against the white bars on the sides of the safety harness.

9 April – At the end of March, Thorpe Park announced the fast approaching official opening date for Hyperia on Friday 24 May.
In a new video posted to YouTube by Jack Silkstone, you can see preparations for the ride test beginning. Construction of the playground fence foundation is currently underway. Fence posts have been installed to prevent queuing, and the queuing area when entering the station has been enclosed as a safety feature. Netting is also being added because the queue line is directly underneath the roller coaster. A new sign has been added to the station building saying “Welcome Fearless”.
